DHSB's Family of
Fine Bread's
Traditional sweet bread, known as "ponduce", a round tear bread, was
introduced to Hawaii by the Portuguese explorer Pedro Fernandez de Quirios in
the early 1700's. The ancient crater of Lae'ahi , formed
150,000 years ago by the winds piling up of volcanic ash, lured British sailors
to its slopes in 1825 with the glittering of calcite crystals strewn abundantly
on the massive peak. Thinking the worthless rocks were precious gemstones, the
nickname "Diamond Head" was given to the mountain.
Sometimes
mistaken as a pastry, Diamond Head Sweet Bread sparkles with a refreshing taste
of the tropical Hawaiian Isles. Not just for breakfast or a tasty snack, your
sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, and French toast will shine as "Ono",
special treats!
Until now, this tantalizing formula has been available only in
the islands. These quality products can now be delivered fresh to your door, any
where in the world.
